Apparel House houses 229 showrooms in four categories, A, B, C, and D in varied capacities. Here is a brief outline of the various category of showrooms and details about their availability :

Selected garment exporters would be allotted a showroom on a license basis, with 100% refundable license fee at the rate of Rs. 7000/- per sq. ft., a security deposit of Rs 1 lakh. Apart from this, eligible candidates are also required to pay Rs 15/- as maintenance charges, which, is reviewed from time to time.

d)
In case, an applicant does not pay the balance amount within the stipulated period after the payment of Application Money, a penalty of 15% per annum shall be charged compounded half yearly. This clause is also applicable for the delayed payment of maintenance charges.
e)
The Showrooms are available only on Leave & License basis which will be periodically renewed (no ownership).
f)
Only those applications, which are complete in all respects, will be considered valid.
g)
The competent Authority has full power to cancel the showroom at any time and return the License Fee & Security Deposit after deducting the applicable administrative / other charges in terms of Leave and License Agreement.
h)
Any successful applicant who intends to withdraw later forfeit the Application Money.
i)
Applicants having export turnover of Rs. 20 Lakh or more in the last three years can book a maximum of two Showrooms. But, one application will be allowed for one Showroom only.
j)
The final payment by the allotted will be made on the basis of the actual size of the Showroom.
k)
In case it is found that the applicant has got the Showroom allotted on mis-representation, the cancellation of Showroom will be effective immediately and the Application Amount will be for feited.
l)
The exchange of Showroom may be allowed on payment of Administrative Charges as prescribed in the Leave and License Agreement, if it is mutually agreed between two allottees.
m)
The allotted will abide by all bye-laws made by the Apparel Export Promotion Council from time to time.
n)
For execution of Leave and License Agreement and possession, the allotted will be required to execute legal documents and take over physical possession of the showroom when called upon. Action for cancellation of allotment and forfeiture of application amount shall be taken in case of failure to execute legal documents or to make Full and Final Payment including Security Deposit and Maintenance Charges within the stipulated time or extended time, if any. Taking physical possession of the allotted Showroom immediately after execution of Leave and License Agreement will be obligatory on the part of the allotted.
a)
Only those member exporters who fulfill the following conditions are eligible to apply for the Showrooms:
The applicant should be a readymade garment exporter having a valid RCMC of AEPC
Cumulative export turnover should be at least Rs. 20 Lakhs the last three years (2004-05 and 2006-07) in the domestic and export market, during the same period.
The applicant has to remain a member of AEPC till the time he/she continues to occupy the Showroom in the Apparel House. AEPC shall have the right to debit the membership fee from his/her deposits, of any kind, in case the fee is not paid in time.
b)
In case of buying houses/buying agencies, presently, the only condition is that the buying house/buying agency should have done business (commission able) worth Rs. 20 crore or more in the preceding year, 2005-06. Such buying houses/buying agencies will also obtain Membership of AEPC as and when decided by the Competent Authority.
Other Important Clauses
Mortgage/Sub-leasing/Renting of the Showroom is not allowed.
The allotted shall pay all taxes, levies, fees and cess of every description in respect of the Showroom, whether assessed, charged or imposed on the Showroom allotted by Apparel Export Promotion Council or by any other Competent Authority.
AEPC reserves the right to make such addition, alteration or modification in the Terms and Conditions of Allotment from time to time as considered necessary.
In case of any clarification or interpretation regarding Terms & Conditions, the decision of AEPC shall be final and binding on all applicants / allottees.
For all disputes, on any issue pertaining to Allotment / License, the jurisdiction of disputes will be of the Court at Gurgaon, Haryana.
The allotted shall be governed by the Provisions of Rules, Regulations/bye-laws made and notified by AEPC from time to time.
An applicant for the showroom is subject to certain terms and conditions, which are outlined below:
Allotment of showrooms will be on a 'Leave and License' basis, which will be periodically renewed
Allotment of showrooms as per applications will be on the 'draw of lots' basis
Refundable interest fee, license fee and security deposit after completion of the license period
Applications for showroom allotment are subject to screening by a committee constituted by AEPC
No ownership of the showrooms
Rs. 15 to be paid per sq. ft. on the 7th of every month as maintenance charges. The amount is subject to change from time to time
An extra security amount of Rs. 1 lakh should be deposited
An allottee can apply for transfer of a showroom to another eligible applicant after an initial lock-in period of 3 years, subject to transfer charges
If an allottee wants to surrender a showroom prior to his completion of the lock-in-period of 3 years, he is subject to the conditions and deductions of the 'Leave and License' agreement
Application is to be submitted with the initial booking amount, and balance amount is to be paid on or before date of possession
If the allottee fails to pay the balance amount within the stipulated time period, he is subject to a penalty of 15% compounded half yearly
Security deposit, which is refundable is payable at the time of possession
The allottee is required to pay administrative charges as prescribed in the agreement
In case of unsuccessful applicants, the initial booking amount will be refunded without interest
Mortgage/sub-leasing/renting of showrooms are not allowed

In case of waiting list candidates (further screening after a year), the application money with 7% interest will be refunded if they do not qualify
